I remember my sister reading me bedtime stories when I was two. It was Wynken, Blynken and Nod. I mostly remember the secure feeling of her voice and smile.

Memories. .. share the earliest or most favorite childhood memory
by MissFit inmy daughter tells me that experts say children tend to have false memories.
apparently their brain tends to fill things in that may not be totally accurate.. i refuse to believe that my favorite and comforting memory might not be true.
so here is to fond memories real or not.. the earliest memory i have is being put in a crib at a preschool.

I think it was funny when Fred Franz gave that talk to Gilead I think, about how the Bible doesn't support a "Governing body". There is a classic politburo infighting expose! That is pretty damn funny when you think about it. Its like the serpent trying to eat its tail. -

Did you ever hear yourself as a JW say something and think, did that just come out of my mouth?
by Wasanelder Once ini was driving with a long time non-witness friend when a song by supertramp came on the radio and i changed it.
she asked "why did you do that?
i like that song.

I was driving with a long time non-witness friend when a song by Supertramp came on the radio and I changed it. She asked "why did you do that? I like that song." I said "The subject matter isn't something that ..." and she finished my sentence "...Jehovah likes, right?"
I realized then that I was a turd and a self-righteous ass. I said, "right".
Did you ever really hear your self when you said stuff like that and then take a step back?Pay attention newbies, your brain is trying to call you out when that happens. Out of the WT.

Do You Consider Jehovah's Witnesses A Boring Group of People???
by minimus ini think they are the most boring people on earth.
they are about as exciting as a dead ant..
-

You ask if they are a "boring group of people". Yes as a group they are. When you get them alone they often brighten up because they are not pressured to conform to their peers. I was always self conscious about how boring they were when I was with them because I knew I must appear the same. I tried to be different and perhaps that is part of how I woke up.

Its stupid, inane and childish but I love Bubble Boy with Jake Gyllenhall. "500 Dollah!" Classic. It has Zach Galifinakis too.

I am going to pioneer after the holidays!
by snakeface inyes, you heard right.. as you know, most christian organizations publish and distribute little tracts with their gospel message.
well they also make some that expose the lies of the wt, and explain how it is a cult.
even if people are not interested in the "gospel message" in these tracts, the tracts do a good job exposing the wt as a cult.. now, those of you who are now agnostic or athiests or just non-religious, please keep reading, to understand what i plan to do.... i am expecting to receive $$ for christmas.

Does Anyone Watch Ascension?
by jw07 inthis new series' pilot episode is the perfect allegory for the blind faith of the average person in the jw movement, those who deny that anything 'immoral' or sinister happens within the ranks, the double lives, doubters, and towards the end of the episode, an example of how the governing body controls persons' lives.
check it out and tell me if you saw all the parallels.
i think it's my new favourite show.. http://tv-series.me/2014/12/15/ascension-s1e1-season-1-episode-1/.

I am glad you like it, I on the other hand found it plodding, predictable and kind of boring. Might get better, don't know. Its so hard to find shows that are quality and that are worth watching. If you like this one, enjoy! I know I like shows others don't like. Its great to have choices, thanks for giving your endorsement.

CONFESS or COVERUP
by Terry inthe disconnect from the family of humanity......the snap of that fellow feeling......the cold indifferent shrug as each person dries up and hardens into a mere thing in a kingdom hall.....is a withering away of all that is noble, pure and innocent.. and when that icy moment sets in the rest of the world vanishes into an invisible nothing in the heart of that strutting and proud lump of human flesh called jehovah's witness.. it is the first of many deaths they will endure.... where does it begin and where does it end?.
perhaps by defending huge lies?.
if you are complicit in a crime against humanity you have two basic ethical choices:.

Couple questions....like if JW's not the right way then what is?
by world innew member here so don't attack :d here is a couple questions i have been contemplating lately.. .
if jw isn't the right religion, then which one is?
or is it basically believe in god, the bible and you'll be fine?.
-
Wasanelder Once
Anyone looking for the "true" or "right" religion is still in the clutches of JW reasoning. Hate to break it to ya but there is no one universal truth accept that there is no one universal truth. lol Keep posting as you see the reasonableness of such a statement. Whatever floats your boat so long as it doesn't sink mine.

I liked it, having a father who is judgemental and aloof in his later years I could relate. Robert Downey is fantastic and Duvall is at his best in my opinion. No spoilers. Have you seen it? Did it resonate with you? Did you think it was heavy handed or well done. This watching your parents age is tough. Those 8mm movies hit home with me. Hope someone has an opinion. Thanks ahead of time. Just don't spoil it for others.
